Monster Core Information
What are Monster Cores?
With the increase of ambient mana in the world many things have begun to change or appear that was never a thing before, Monster Cores are one of such things that came about because of this.
Monster Cores are a mana nuclei of sorts that naturally form within faunas that have reached a certain level of mana density within them, from absorbing the ambient mana around them. While rare in lower-level creatures, it is very common in stronger creatures due to the denseness of the mana within them, with the use and size of the core changing depending on the creature’s capabilities.
What can Monster Cores do?
Monster Cores come in different sizes and shapes depending on the creature they are found in, but almost all have the common ability to boost magical abilities or even the physical body by a certain amount when they are refined and consumed. Some can even boost elemental affinities if they are consumed, albeit they are much rarer.
E Rank Monster Core are very rare due to how little mana an E Rank creature would have to begin with, but, if one could be found it can give a boost of anywhere between 1-3% of a person’s ability or physical attributes depending on the creature the core belonged to.
D Rank Monster Cores usually do not contain a lot of mana within them, and thus consuming them does not raise any more than 3-8% of a person’s ability, or physical attributes, depending on the creature the core belonged to.
C Rank Monster Cores aren’t much better, but they do contain more mana and as such give a greater boost in a person’s ability or physical attribute by 8-15% depending on the creature it belonged to.
B Rank Monster Cores contain much more mana within them than previous ones, and as such, they give a much greater boost in a person’s ability or physical attributes, with a 15-25% boost depending on the creature the core belonged to.
A Rank Monster Cores contain a lot of mana within them, and some even tend to contain a certain mana or elemental affinity depending on the creature it was in, as such they tend to boost 25-50% of a person’s ability or physical attributes.
S Rank Monster Cores are extremely dense with mana and dangerous to consume, but if one can find a way to consume it without being injured they can get anywhere between a 50-85% boost in ability or physical attributes depending on the creature. They also guarantee an increase in affinity of some sort.
While these boosts may seem great, in most cases it is dangerous to consume a core from a creature above C Rank without first refining it through a process known as purifying, otherwise, they can cause backlash to the consumer. To purify a core one must allow the core to soak in a mixture of Liquid Mana, their own Mana, and Purifying Water.
What are the limits of Monster Cores?
Like all things, even Monster Cores would have limits to how much they can be used, and how often they could be used, with the stronger the monster the core comes from naturally playing a part in these limitations.
The limits can be seen as the following;
-
E Rank Monster Cores aren’t very strong, and as such, they have very low limitations and limitations on usage, with multiple being able to consume at a time, and a max of 200 Cores being able to consume in total.
-
D Rank Monster Cores usually do not contain a lot of mana within them, and as such, they also do not have massive limitations on consumption and max amount, with a person normally being able to consume 5 per day, with a max amount of 100.
-
C Rank Monster Cores also do not contain a lot of mana but are better than D rank cores, so they have limitations of around 2-3 cores per day, with a max amount of around 60 cores.
-
B Rank Monster Cores contain much more mana within them than previous ones, and as such, they have a greater limitation of around 1 core per few days, and a limit of around 35 cores in total.
-
A Rank Monster Cores contain a lot of mana within them, and some even tend to contain a certain mana or elemental affinity as such they need much more time to digest with a limit of 1 core per few weeks, and a max limit of around 20 in total.
-
S Rank Monster Cores are extremely dense with mana and dangerous to consume, but if one can find a way to consume it without being injured and even then they can only be consumed once per few months, with a total consumption amount of around 5.
Where can Monster Cores be found?
If the name isn’t obvious already, Monster Cores can be found within the bodies of monsters, also known as, faunas. They are naturally formed when the ambient mana a creature absorbs reaches a certain level, becoming so dense it takes a solid form often in the shape of an orb, but other shapes can exist too.
Now, just because it can form within monsters doesn’t mean it will form within monsters, with the rate of it forming highly depending on the capabilities and strength of the fauna. With a likelihood of finding one similar to below.
-
F Rank Faunas do not form cores and thus they can not be found within the body of an F Rank no matter how much someone searches for one.
-
E Rank Faunas have a very low forming rate, with chances close to 1 in 10000 for one to be formed within a creature.
-
D Rank Faunas have a higher rate of forming than others but it is still considered rare even amongst them, being within 1 in 1000 or around that amount, depending on the fauna.
-
C Rank Faunas have a much higher rate of forming than others with a rate of 1 in 100 because of how dense the mana is within the monsters.
-
B Rank Faunas are very dense with mana and as such have a very likely forming rate for a core, with a 1 in 10 chance that it would have a core.
-
A Rank Faunas all have cores, finding one without a core would actually be the hard part.
-
S Rank Faunse have very dense mana that they would naturally all have cores, some even have smaller cores in them.
