Abilities:

  • Appears through any opening, such as doors, cracks, wounds, reflections, or incomplete spaces.

  • Can force itself through openings smaller than its body, distorting and folding unnaturally while doing so.

  • Creates false openings on surfaces, allowing it to emerge where nothing should open.

  • Alters the meaning of an opening, causing exits to become entrances and paths to lead somewhere else.

  • Can partially exist on both sides of an opening at once, interacting from multiple points simultaneously.

  • Causes nearby openings to stretch, shrink, or shift position without warning.

  • Can pull objects or people through openings without fully exposing itself.

  • Movement near openings becomes unreliable, causing missteps, clipping, or delayed positioning.

  • Can retreat instantly through any nearby opening, even if it was sealed or nonexistent before.

  • Prolonged exposure causes targets to misjudge space, seeing gaps where none exist and missing ones that do.

  • Coreless - This creature does not drop a core in any way or form.

  • Trackless -This creature can not be tracked, sensed, or located with any source of any rank.

  • Singular Form - This creature can not reproduce, be reproduced, be copied, or anything that would otherwise take away its singular identity.

  • Soulless - This creature does not have a soul.

Description: Aperture Heralds do not travel or roam; they appear only when they want to, when they want to do something, emerging from any form of opening: doorways, wounds, cracks, reflections, or even partially formed spells. Their bodies seem forced through spaces too small to contain them, stretching and folding unnaturally as they emerge. They can find someone no matter where they go, how far they run, or how they hide.
