Description: The Faceless Technique is an advanced Ki Technique designed for concealing one's identity. Making the practitioner's face elusive and unmemorable. It combines illusions and subtle manipulation of perception, shrouding the features with an ethereal veil.
Pathways:
Stage One - Wear a mask at all times for 100 days, learn to adopt various facial and body expressions beneath the mask never taking it off.
Bonus: Enhanced anonymity in crowded places 3x. The ability to change the mask's appearance to a different mask.
Backlash: If the mask is ever taken off to someone, all progress made in the technique goes away.
Stage Two - For 50 days a practitioner must incorporate the technique mastered in the first stage, the second stage involves incorporating mana/ki into the movements. Mastery means you are able to focus on harmonizing with the feel of manipulating mana as if it’s behind a mask.
Bonus: Near impossible to be detected by mana detection. Enhanced control over mana 2x.
Backlash: 2x less mental resistance. Can be detected by other practitioners of the same technique.
Stage Three - For 50 days the user must undergo a transformative physical ordeal. Using facial contortion methods according to the technique; the bones in their face must be fractured, cracked, then healed constantly, until the skull becomes fluid.
Bonus: Able to change the shape of their mask with their face to anyone they have seen before.
Backlash: Will be constantly in pain and passing out if fourth stage is not learned.
Final Stage - Observe the mana signatures of 100 other individuals and replicate the signatures of other people.
Bonus: Capable of making their mana signature resemble that of anyone they’ve observed.
Backlash: Increased vulnerability to mana-related attacks for 2 turns after mimicking another’s mana signature.
