Description: Stirmites are tiny simple creatures floating at sea that are able to connect with other Stirmites to form large floating colonies that function like a hivemind, essentially turning the colony into one giant organism. Stirmite colonies appear like black islands floating on top of the water, using photosynthesis to get most of their energy. However once a colony grows large enough, some of the Stirmites making up the colony will spread into the water and form into the shape of long black tendrils. As the colony drifts through the water, these tendrils will be dragged through the water like nets. Once anything touches these tendrils, it'll alert the entire colony and all nearby Stirmites will deliver a dangerous toxic sting to their new prey which is then surrounded and consumed by the colony. At night these colonies can emit a soft blue glow which helps attract curious prey.
