Description:
The Mimica Core Refinement Method grants practitioners the ability to shift their physical form in various ways inspired by the offensive, defensive, and stealth capabilities of the elusive and deceptive Mimica.
Pathways:
Stage One: Greed's Cocoon
To begin refinement, the practitioner must first acquire and refine 10 Mimica cores. The refinement process then requires the user to stay curled up inside of a cramped wooden box while holding the cores close to their body. With the practitioner still inside, the box must then be filled up with coins, precious metals, or other small valuable items made out of metal and left undisturbed for 5 hours while the practitioner absorbs the essence of the cores.
Path Options
Path One: Voracious Maw
Abilities & Effects:
- Gains sharp teeth and enhances bite strength by 3x
- Tongue is now able to extend up to a meter away from the mouth.
- Able to temporarily form new functioning mouths anywhere across the practitioner's body, complete with their own tongue and set of teeth.
Drawbacks:
- Appetite is significantly increased and requires more food to survive, even if the practitioner doesn't normally require food.
- Can only form two new mouths at a time and doing so requires constant concentration or else the mouth will quickly disappear.
Path Two: Ironclad Defense
Abilities & Effects:
- Skin becomes naturally twice as durable.
- Can temporarily turn entire body into metal that's twice as strong as steel.
- While transformed into metal, can further change arms or legs into any shape like forming shields or blades out of ones arms.
Drawbacks:
- Metal form only lasts for 3 turns with a 5 turn cooldown and causes muscle soreness once it ends.
- Far slower and heavier while in metal form.
- Has all the natural weaknesses of metal while transformed.
Path Three: Unseen Trickster
Abilities & Effects:
- Able to shapeshift into the form of any object the practitioner has seen.
- Shapeshifting into an object hides all signs of life like heartbeat or breathing.
- Becomes naturally undetectable to lower ranked detection-type magic.
Drawbacks:
- Must stay still while transformed or else the practitioner will temporarily become detectable by others.
- Practitioner won't be able to transform into objects that are under half their size or over double their size.
- Ability to hide from magic detection only works when the practitioner isn't using any magic.
